Are you manually numbering headings, reformatting layouts, or placing pages one by one in InDesign? If so, this session is for you. Designed for experienced users ready to level up, this intermediate session focuses on automation, efficiency, and document control. Adobe Certified Professional Audra Allen will demonstrate how to eliminate tedious tasks and unlock the full power of InDesign’s more advanced features, especially those that make long, complex documents easier to manage.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Build automatic numbering systems for headings and sections
• Use primary text frames to control document flow
• Apply Find/Change for bulk edits, including GREP-based functions
• Run (and lightly customize) scripts to automate repetitive tasks
This session assumes participants already have a working knowledge of paragraph styles, master pages, and core InDesign concepts. The focus is on how to make those tools work together to dramatically improve speed, accuracy, and consistency.
Participation: Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop to follow along, but note-takers are welcome.

Audra Allen, President & Co-Founder

Audra Allen is the co-founder of Emerald Fox Marketing & Consulting, a firm specializing in marketing for the AEC industry. With a background in design and professional services marketing, she combines technical expertise with creative strategy to help firms reach their full potential. An Adobe Certified Professional, Audra regularly leads InDesign workshops for marketing teams and industry organizations, blending technical instruction with real-world application to help marketers streamline their workflow and elevate their proposals.
Beyond her role at Emerald Fox, Audra has been deeply involved with the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), including serving as President of the San Antonio chapter (2019-2020). Her approach centers on leveraging a firm’s strengths through thoughtful planning, purposeful design, and consistent execution.
