Geoffrey Lyon brings over 25 years of AEC experience, seven as an Architect and 20 as an Architectural Photographer. Throughout his career, he has developed insights to help streamline your photographic process to ensure the multi-year projects your team has designed and constructed are captured to showcase their distinction. 

Geoff is joined by his business Principal Jennifer Murray, MBA, who provides essential business practices for scheduling, licensing, copyright, and usage rights in the industry. Geoffrey and Jennifer are architecturally trained at the University of Houston Hines College of Architecture and together highlight the intersection of architectural photography best practices and ethical marketing to maximize the presentation and ongoing revenue generation from your AEC projects.

Geoffrey Lyon - OWNER / PRESIDENT, PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Geoff established G. Lyon Photography (GLP) with a vision for capturing the aesthetic of built environments through professional photography. A technical master of the craft, his artistry represents spaces in visual alignment with their architectural intent.

As an architect, he practiced at Brand + Allen, Kirksey, and Vail Architecture Group before launching GLP. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Architecture with a photography minor from the Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston, along with an FAA Section 107 Aerial Drone Pilot License.

Geoff’s photos are published in Architectural Record, Texas Architect, Cite, The Architect’s Newspaper, Architect Magazine, Arch Daily, and countless other publications and books. His images are regularly viewable in marketing the City of Houston by Visit Houston, the Greater Houston Partnership, and at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

True to his architectural aesthetic, Geoff resides in a Lake|Flato home in the heart of Houston. A Canadian-born Texan, Geoff proudly calls Houston home and faithfully supports Team USA, USMNT, Canada Soccer Association, Houston Dynamo FC, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and other local sports teams.

Jennifer Murray - PRINCIPAL

Jennifer optimizes organizations for maximum strategic growth. She aids GLP clients in representing their years of hard work on architectural and construction projects with the highest quality professional photography available. She provides strategic internal and external business development and is conducting architectural research on photographic representation to advance the architectural community.

Photo shoots combine her favorite art form, photography, with her enduring passion for architecture. Continually seeing the cutting-edge architectural craftsmanship produced by GLP clients ensures early before-dawn building shoots are a pleasure.

Jennifer met Geoff as studiomates at the Hines College of Architecture. Since then, her career has focused on marketing communication, leadership, and entrepreneurial business. Highlights include teaching leadership and creativity at Rice University, launching a nonprofit to national CNN Heroes prominence, and more localized impact as a nonprofit executive.

Jennifer holds advanced degrees in journalism, business, architecture, and leadership. She’s part Rice Owl, Houston Cougar, and William & Mary Tribe. She also teaches MBAs, lives at the Brava Downtown, is a native Houstonian, and an alumna of Leadership Houston.
