🌟Get to know Alayne a little bit more below🌟

What does your committee (or position) do?

My committee manages the chapter’s sponsorship program, which entails building relationships with industry partners, and securing financial support for our annual initiatives. I develop sponsorship packages, recruit and engage sponsors, ensure benefits are delivered, and collaborate with chapter leadership to enhance visibility for our partners while supporting SMPS Houston’s mission and programming.

What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a board member?

Just do it!! Get involved by volunteering on committees or special events, learn how the Chapter supports our members, and offer ideas on ways to add value. Be visible and engaged, and let the board members know you are interested.

What is an accomplishment that shaped the course of your career?

Earning my CPSM certification and completing my MBA were pivotal milestones in my career. The CPSM deepened my expertise in marketing and business development within the A/E/C industry. Pursuing an MBA expanded my strategic thinking, leadership, and business management skills, allowing me to approach challenges with a broader perspective. Combined, these achievements have equipped me to make a greater impact in my role and contribute meaningfully to both my firm and the professional community.

What’s a hobby or interest you have outside of work that might surprise people?

I've been very involved with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, having volunteered for more than 20 years on several different committees. I currently write for the Bowlegged H Magazine and give tours during the show. I also married a college sports addict, so we frequently attend UH and Aggie football, baseball, softball, basketball, etc. 🏈⚾🥎🏀
