What does your committee (or position) do?
The Education committee puts together lunch and learns and other events to provide professional development opportunities to our members.
Why did you want to be on the board?
Joining the board was a great opportunity to challenge myself and grow my personal leadership.
What do you hope to accomplish as director/chair?
I hope to provide meaningful content that our members can take away and use in their career or lives outside of work.
What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a board member?
Do it! Even if you think you don't know what you are doing, it is a great learning experience and you will have plenty of people to advise you and help along the way.
Why do you love SMPS?
SMPS has provided me with an extremely valuable network of individuals within the industry. Getting to know peers in the industry has provided validation to me and helped me feel more confident in myself and my skills as an AEC professional.
