How has SMPS helped you in your career?
The organization does an outstanding job at coordinating professional development events and webinars that are always relevant, engaging and enjoyable! I love attending the Lunch and Learn Labs every time I can. It is always fun to step away from my desk to engage in active learning while catching up with colleagues.
What has been your memorable SMPS event to date, and why?
I love attending the Annual Awards Gala! It is a great opportunity to unwind while celebrating each other’s accomplishments and hard work.
What do you love most about your job?
The people I get to work with! The HR Green team is diverse, innovative, and supportive.
What’s the best career advice you have ever received?
Sometimes you have to say no and that is okay!
What would you do with a year off?
And unlimited funds?! I would travel the world! Meet new people, see new places, try new foods, and make lots of memories.
What do you enjoy most about Houston?
The food!!! There is no shortage of awesome restaurants in Houston. Some of my go to’s are Tiny Boxwoods, North, Eight Row Flint, and Coltivare.
How do you kick-back?
I am usually on the go, so I REALLY enjoy the time I get to be home with my husband and 2 dogs! Having a cup of coffee (or wine!) outside, cooking, hosting friends and neighbors, working out, and walking the dogs are some of my favorite things!
